The CMS sidebar is home to a lot of different settings that editorial users use for every article.
The old sidebar has reached its limit and lost the goodwill of both users and stakeholders. More and more settings were crammed into the sidebar: a Frankenstein, bursting at the seams, where settings are hard to find.

End-to-end: From discovery to iteration
The new sidebar (shown here) organizes a confusing experience into menus. It reduces overwhelm and improves usability by sectioning, adding clear headers & spacing. And adds flexibility and optimizes for future scale by allowing for submenus / subpages.
